So do older IUL products let’s say the products that came out 2018 and before that. You are saying the caps on those would rise later than the new policies because of where treasuries were when the product first came out?

If the government was responsible they would pay back the money that they've raided from Social Security but they're not responsible so that isn't going to happen instead we give 65 billion to Ukraine on top of 95 billion that we gave him a couple years ago

Great example on how an IUL can be used to invest in real estate. I don’t understand why you didn’t structured this policy illustration to max value thought… this could easily have an 80-85% of the premium available in year 1 in cash value.

By blending in the term rider to lower overall cost/fees how are you able to max fund the policies in particular the 3 pay and remain compliant with tax citations TEFRA, DEFRA & TAMRA. I appreciate this illustration especially when it comes to fees as IUL policies get a bad rap. I realize most of that is b/c most agent don’t bother to deeply understand how IUL’s work. They are either product pushing or chasing 🤑. It’s a integrity issue and contributes to an existing problem.

Why not have the government pay back all of the social security money it took from social security to use for other purposes , this could be done by tapping the oil and natural gas on government land, selling it and putting the proceeds of the sale back into the social security fund. Much better than buying oil from the Middle East and letting them make the profit. Make certain that the funds paid into social security, are used only for social security, do no use the money for anything except social security payments to Americans that have paid into social security or disabled Americans citizens. Do not use social security money for for illegals , general fund expenses or any other government expense. Do not allow Congress or the President / Vice President have a pay raise until the social security deficit is solved, in a manner that does not require social security recipients to give up more than they already have given up financially.

Guess all those SS points are quite moot now, as it was reported just this week that most SS numbers and other such info has been HACKED by a group of electronic criminals. Then for good measure they supposedly also threw all that private data onto the dark web, for the use of even more criminals. Hopefully these reports are vastly exaggerated, but these days almost any crazy thing seems possible.

Facts: Money of the SSA fund is handed out to many who paid into and deserve funds. SSA input will be less than amount handed out as ppl living longer and lower birth rates decades ago. Higher demand and less supply. How will govt fix? They will either take more per working person per check or take more from working people long during a year or both. The govt and SSA will probably also penalize ppl who have planned the retirement (ie 401k, stocks, pensions, other investments) meaning saved and will reduce or eliminate altogether one’s SSA payout. Why does the SSA hand out funds to people who do not deserve funds?

BUT... Dave would have said to NEVER buy a crappy goose egg of a Whole Life policy in the first place. What if that couple was young and invested the cash they "wasted" in a whole life policy and had just invested it in an IRA or 401 (k) or even a taxed brokerage account? From age 21 to 76 they would have made far in excess what the annuity pays and they could have used it at ANYTIME in a brokerage account. How much did it cost and when did they purchase that Whole Life policy? I must agree with you though, if someone screws up and buys a crappy Whole Life to begin with following bad advice at least they can convert it to a less crappy Annuity. Simply put, they would still be better off cashing out the whole life and investing the $500K in a brokerage account invested in an ETF like VOO or QQQM and they would have more money to spend over that same time period. They could even take out less sooner and still have more in the long run. So, although I like you explanation, overall Dave is still right here. Whole life was bad and annuity is bad. Now if we add in lack of investing skills, senility, dementia, etc. Then a annuity might make more sense for simplicity if the is no executor or care taker involved. I do like whole life and annuities but they are even more limited in benefits than what you have laid out here. A "Perpetual Trust" may be the ONLY place a whole life policy has any value other than making the insurance agent selling it a massive profit?

IULs are LIFE INSURANCE first, investment second. These policies are typically only suitable as an investment in very rare circumstances. If your net worth exceeds $10 million and you have particular tax or estate planning needs, they might make sense. However, for most people, 401k is a better choice. Source- my bf is a CFP for 20 years.

I used to sell iul and now I only do whole life. IUL is great but it will never beat the market obviously.. however the guarantees are horrible, and if the policy doesn’t perform as illustrated it does in fact break not in 7 years but in the long term… I run my practice by keeping insurance insurance with the best guarantees aka WL/term. Then keep the investments investments with a brokerage account or wba etc etc. this philosophy earns more than the indexed IUL can and provides the best overall protection with guarantees.
